The Week in Review

Happy Friday!

I hope everyone had a great week. Read below to see what I’ve been working on this week!

Introducing Legislation to Help States Combat Biden’s Open Borders Policies

Today, I introduced the State Immigration Enforcement Act. This legislation allows states and localities to pass and enforce laws that mirror federal immigration laws. The Biden Administration has virtually stopped immigration enforcement—allowing deportable aliens to remain in the country and incentivizing illegal aliens to enter the country.

Congress must authorize States to act because the Biden Administration has refused to enforce our nation’s federal immigration laws amid a historic invasion. On Day One, the Biden Administration began issuing directives to stop nearly every border security and immigration enforcement tool in order to implement its radical open borders agenda. The result has led to an unprecedented crisis at our border.

My legislation provides the explicit congressional authorization that the Supreme Court in Arizona v. U.S. said was necessary for state and local governments to act.

My bill will allow states to bypass the Biden Administration’s America Last open border policies and restore the rule of law.

Co-sponsors include: Rep. Bob Good (R-VA), Rep. Randy K. Weber (R-TX), and Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC).

The legislation may be read here.

America First Works’ Town Hall on President Biden’s Failed Border Policies

This week, the America First Policy Institute’s action arm America First Works held a town hall in Phoenix to discuss the Biden Administration’s failed border policies and solutions to address these failures.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to speak with former acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf, former acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker, and Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) and to discuss common sense solutions to address the invasion at the southern border.

We must finish the southern border wall, reimplement the “Remain in Mexico” program, end “catch and release,” impeach DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and enforce our existing immigration laws.

Some of my legislation proposing solutions can be found below:

  • H.R.8951, Ending Catch and Release Act (Biggs, R-AZ)
  • H.R.1901, Stopping Border Surges Act (Biggs, R-AZ)
  • H.R.45, Grant’s Law (Biggs, R-AZ)
  • H.R.58, Fund and Complete the Border Wall Act (Biggs, R-AZ)
  • H.Res.582, Impeaching Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of Homeland Security, for high crimes and misdemeanors (Biggs, R-AZ).

H.R.9128 – 287(g) Program Protection Act

Letters Cosigned

Letter to Secretary McDonough on the Interim Final Rule at the Department of Veterans Affairs that purports to allow abortions to be provided by the VA.

Letter to Attorney General Garland demanding answers for security lapses that led to the escape of Leonard “Fat Leonard” Francis, the mastermind behind the largest corruption scandal in U.S. Navy history weeks before his scheduled sentencing.

My America First Contract

America has had enough of the disastrous leftist policies of the Biden Administration. Our nation is in desperate need of a new action plan for Republicans to follow in January.

My America First Contract is an outline to reduce inflation and strengthen the economy, secure our border, restore transparency and parental choice in education, reduce violent crime and preserve the rule of law, restore election integrity, break up Big Tech, put America First in foreign, energy, and trade policies, and reinstate good government practices.

In addition to achieving these 8 goals, the plan calls on conducting enhanced oversight and using available leverages to stop the abuse of power from President Biden in 2023. I will introduce legislation supporting each area of the plan within the first 100 days of the next Congressional term and will work with my colleagues to bring that legislation up for consideration in the House.

The full contract may be read here

Alien Invasion Border Documentary

Last month, I released my new border documentary titled Alien Invasion. The 30-minute documentary features footage from private ranches along the border, the Darien Gap in Panama, and interviews with members of Congress, Border Patrol, local and state law enforcement, and much more. It addresses how President Biden’s border crisis began, its consequences, and solutions to address the crisis.

What’s the BIGGS Idea? Podcast w/ School Activist Peggy McClain

Image

This week, school activist Peggy McClain joined the “What’s the BIGGS Idea?” podcast. Peggy is an Arizona mother who runs  “Not in Our Schools”—a website that identifies school districts, individual schools, school board members, and teachers who purposely invite Planned Parenthood and its perverse, immoral, and dangerous agenda into our children's lives.

Peggy and I discussed wokeness in Arizona public school education, her website, and solutions from Congress that can better protect our children in public schools.

We’ll be posting more episodes soon. Check out our social media pages for updates.

Definition of the Week

In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, President Joe Biden stated that his Administration’s climate spending will bring "a billion, a trillion, 750 million dollars, billion dollars off the sidelines of investment."

The remark raised many eyebrows and revealed the President’s continued cognitive decline as well as his desire to recklessly spend American taxpayer money on Democrat pet projects. It’s no surprise that the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) data shows that core inflation has reached a new four-decade high. Reckless spending is one of the main factors driving America’s historic inflation and it must be stopped.

Inspired by Joe Biden’s latest spending remarks, here’s the definition of the week:

“A billion, a trillion, 750 million dollars, billion dollars” (Noun): A large, unknown taxpayer figure that President Biden has carelessly spent on Green New Deal projects.
