Two of the most important elections in America are in Alaska on Nov. 8: Congresswoman Peltola and Senator Murkowski are key bipartisan voices that make sure Congress gets things done. 

As a nonpartisan voice committed to bipartisanship and building back better through infrastructure, Build Alaska’s Future Action Fund is endorsing both candidates.

Both are running extremely tight re-election campaigns, and they are the only candidates in their respective races who are pro-choice and pro-infrastructure. We support these campaigns because they have proven through their votes that they will prioritize Alaskans’ and Americans’ best interests, not their own or their party’s.

While Senator Murkowski and Representative Pelota are working with congressional colleagues from both sides of the aisle to build a more sustainable future, Sarah Palin, Kelly Tshibaka, and Nick Begich III are busy fighting against federal infrastructure funding and against Americans’ right to choose.

Frances “Fran” Ulmer is the outgoing chair of The Nature Conservancy’s Global Board of Directors, a senior fellow at Harvard’s Belfer Center and has been a visiting professor both at Stanford and at Harvard’s Institute of Politics. She has served Alaska and northern interests for decades as Alaska’s Lieutenant Governor, state legislator, Mayor of Juneau, Alaska,  professor, lawyer, research director, special advisor to the State Department on the Arctic, and Chair of the U.S. Arctic Research Commission.
