Core inflation, which excludes food and energy costs, is officially at a 40-year high. Food prices have shot up more than 15 percent since January 2021. Mortgage rates are now the highest they've been in 20 years.

And in one single sentence, Republican Geoff Diehl strategically reminded voters which team is responsible for these and so many other lowlights.

When Democrat Maura Healey tried to smear him as some sort of "election denier," he had the perfect response:

"Obviously, Joe Biden won the election. Look at the economy right now."

Short and to the point: The Democrats own this, and no matter how many times Healey sued President Donald Trump, it can't distract from that important fact.
