Team, we know that many families in Massachusetts are struggling with increased costs. And with energy prices expected to soar as winter approaches, Lori is taking action now to ensure that working families have what they need to endure the coming season.
With Lori at the helm, the Massachusetts delegation – including Senator Elizabeth Warren, Representative Katherine Clark, and other leaders – is working to expedite the release of federal home heating relief funds ahead of winter.
Massachusetts is set to receive $37 million in aid due to the new federal spending bill that President Biden recently signed. However, as things stand now, these funds wouldn’t be released until early November. Working families can’t wait that long, so Lori’s leading the charge to get this money delivered as soon as possible .
No one should be forced to choose between keeping their loved ones warm or keeping them fed . But with heating prices projected to increase this winter, due in large part to Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine, that could happen to some families if this money doesn’t get out the door as quickly as possible.
That’s why Lori has stepped up to call on the Biden administration to act quickly. She comes from a working-class family herself, and she knows how challenging the winter months can be for folks who are stretching their dollars to make ends meet.
She’s the kind of leader we need to keep in Congress, and we need your help to re-elect her this November. This has always been a people-powered movement, and we can’t do this without you.
