Good morning, John,

Less than a month before the midterms, it’s now or never. Your help has never been more critical than it is in the final stretch before November 8. Our fight is existential; it’s not hyperbolic to say it. For democracy in America to survive, all of us—left right and center—must do everything we can today.

This week, here’s the most important thing you can do in Pennsylvania.

Protect The Vote!

Knowing your voting rights is crucial to ensuring you have a safe and fair voting experience on election day, and that your fellow Pennsylvanians can also exercise their right to vote.
  • Official State of PA Voting Rights Page: Learn your voting rights directly from the state of Pennsylvania.

  • ACLU Election Protection Coalition: You have resources in case you feel your right or someone else's right to vote is being infringed upon.

  • Become a Poll Worker: Poll workers are the foundation of a fair election on November, 8th. Having pro-democracy bi-partisan poll workers removes any credence from the forthcoming attacks by the GOP on the validity of election day.
These are just a few of the many ways you can step up in Pennsylvania. Check out the full list of volunteer actions at the end of this email.

When it comes to extremism, hyperbole is hard to come by these days. The likes of anti-democratic actors such as Mastriano are seeking greater power over you, over your children's education, over your choice of religion, and over your freedom to choose, which is the heart of our democracy. These anti-democratic authoritarian players care nothing about the wishes of the majority, and they won’t stop until they make your choices for you.
It is impossible to overstate the challenge we face in this midterm. On one hand, we’re battling true extremists who seek to replace democracy with autocracy. They are out in the open, promoting violence, and not even attempting to hide their hate. On the other, we’re battling the cowards and opportunists who refuse to stand up to the extremists—people willing to appease them with their silence if that’s what it takes to maintain power.

If you’ve been working to get out the pro-democracy vote, thank you—now please double down. And if you’ve been too busy with “real life” to volunteer, now is the time to GET IN THE GAME. The price of inaction is the further erosion of the rule of law and our democratic norms. To hand our children a worthy democracy, all of us must do the work now to keep it alive.

See you out there!

P.S. To truly understand what we’re up against, tune into last week’s discussion between Reed Galen, cofounder of the Lincoln Project, and Joe Trippi, master Democratic strategist. It covers the grip of extremism on millions of Americans, what extremists and their appeasers don’t get about governing, and how our coalition matters not only to upcoming elections, but to the functioning of our nation once this battle is won. Listen in, then let’s get back to work.

Here are the most effective actions you can take in Pennsylvania this week to defend our democracy:
  • Knock Doors for Chris Deluzio
    Saturday, October 22nd, 1:30 - 4:30pm
Mobilize the vote in support of Navy Veteran Chris Deluzio for the PA congress. We need pro-democracy candidates up and down the ballot.

  • Canvass for Summer Lee
    Saturdays in October, 10am - 1pm
Make connections in support of pro-democracy candidate Summer Lee for the U.S. House.

  • Fight The Right Canvass in PA
    Sundays until Nov 6th, 11am - 1pm
Nudge voters to get to the polls in support of Josh Shapiro and John Fetterman. Every vote counts and we need every eligible voter to the polls.

  • Don’t see an action you can take…reply to this email and I will help you find one. [email protected]
(And please, if you pitch in, don’t forget to complete our brief Event Follow-Up form.) It’s our way of tracking our progress and impact in these crucial weeks before the midterms.
