News from Representative Allred

Dear John,

Investing in VA medical facilities in Texas and across the country is a common-sense thing we can do to ensure our veterans get the best quality health care in their community while strengthening local economies. That’s why I was proud President Biden signed my bipartisan bill, the 2022 Veterans Affairs Major Medical Facility Authorization Act, into law.

This bipartisan bill invests in several Veterans Affairs construction projects, including continued funding for the spinal cord injury center at the Dallas VA Medical Center and funding to build a new health care center in El Paso.

In April, I asked VA Secretary Denis McDonough why projects like the Spinal Cord Injury Center in Dallas were a big deal and how we can work to get veterans the quality care they need. You can watch that here

I was proud to work in a bipartisan way with fellow Texan, Congressman Jake Ellzey to pass this bill. As a member of the Veterans Committee, I will keep working with folks in both parties to keep our promise to our veterans and ensure they can get the benefits and care they are owed.

My office is here to be a resource for you. If you need help resolving your issues with the VA or any federal agency, please do not hesitate to give us a call (972) 972-7949 or visit my website here.

It’s an honor to serve North Texas, where I was born and raised.

Sincerely,
