Friends,

No one can predict anything in politics.

I’ll give you an example:

Three days ago, Marisa said, “Hey Jeff, you’re running for Congress, you should go on Pod Save America.”

Pod Save America is one of the biggest podcasts in the country. Each episode pulls in about 1.5 million listeners. Getting on the show is a nice idea, but not exactly realistic.

So I said, “Nah, I’m not famous. I don’t rate that kind of exposure.”

Literally the next day my campaign manager got a phone call.

Jon Lovett from Pod Save America wanted to come knock doors with me in Charlotte for the show. And he was going to be there the next day.

So — totally out the blue — this happened yesterday:

Jon Lovett from Pod Save America came to knock doors with me in Charlotte.

What a great time. One of the highlights of the campaign so far.

The episode comes out next Monday, but I can give you a sense of what to expect: I’m very politely speaking with voters about the upcoming election, and Jon is telling them, “Hey! You need to vote! You need to vote for Jeff! Are you going to vote for Jeff? You should!”

Different approaches, but both can work.

I think the reason our race is getting national attention is because people who follow politics know that we’ve got a strong chance to win, but that we’re still in a tough fight.

So follow their lead and help us bring this race home by chipping in today.
