Today marks World Mental Health Day, JOHN, which means it's a time to reflect and chart a path forward for the future.

I'm a proud parent to three young kids. And like many of you, I constantly worry about their well-being.

Mental health challenges are a serious epidemic in this country, and I saw this first-hand when I worked at the Pentagon. Our veterans give everything to this country and often need extra support when they return.

The truth is we need to do better, and we need our lawmakers to fully address the issue of mental health for our kids, our workers, and our veterans.

That's why l am running to expand access to mental health and healthcare resources, ensure that our schools are adequately equipped with support staff, and increase benefits for veterans and their families.

Today, I hope you will have a chance to reflect on what this World Mental Health Day means for you and your loved ones. For me, I'm going to be taking a mindful walk along one of my favorite St. Pete waterfront paths. I'm also thinking about how I can help others, especially the vulnerable members of our community who need extra care and support.
