Happy Saturday. âï¸
Below are the top news stories from around the country - handpicked for
you this week by the editors at the Free Telegraph! Washington Gov. and
2020 candidate Jay Inslee (ever heard of him??) is sticking taxpayers
with the bill for his presidential vanity project. Contrast that with
Gov. Bevin in Kentucky, who is doing great things to actually help
taxpayers - not hurt them. Last but not least, read about a great new
initiative Gov. Ricketts has launched to honor veterans! Happy reading!
Who Are Jay Inslee's Largest Campaign Contributors? Washington State
Taxpayers
What Happened:
Washington State taxpayers are footing the bill for Democrat Gov. Jay
Inslee's failing presidential campaign.
Why You Should Care:
Since launching his quixotic 2020 campaign, Gov. Inslee has racked up a
$4 million bill for his security detail. He's also refused to
reimburse the state - and by extension, its taxpayers. Should his
constituents really be paying for him to travel around the country and
campaign for a nomination he'll never get? At this point, it's just
a taxpayer-funded vanity project.
What Happens Next:
We wait and see if Inslee breaks 1% in the polls.

What Happens Next:
Gov. Bevin's pro-growth policies will continue to improve the lives of
hard-working Americans all over the Bluegrass State.

Nebraska GOP Governor Pete Ricketts Honors Cornhusker Veterans With New
Initiative
What Happened:
Gov. Ricketts launched a new initiative aimed at preserving stories from
Nebraskan veterans. The goal? Make sure their bravery and sacrifice are
never forgotten.
Why You Should Care:
Honoring veterans ALWAYS matters. With this program, volunteers will
interview veterans and record their stories. They'll then be archived
at the Library of Congress as part of its Veterans History Program. This
initiative is an important part of Gov. Ricketts commitment to
prioritizing Nebraska's veterans.
What Happens Next:
So far, 2,000 stories from veterans in the Cornhusker State have already
been collected - expect that number to grow!
