¡FALL IS HERE!

The new school year has commenced, students across the district are settling in, Pumpkin Spice is back, and it's finally hoodie season again. Goodbye to mosquitoes, hello cheap Halloween candy.

As we enter the fall, we got to have a few adventures and made some wonderful memories. In addition to this, here are a few things to keep your eyes open for!

A Harbor Full of Spectacles

In September, our office had the opportunity to partake in a few activities in Boston Harbor!

On September 15th, I got to attend the Spectacle on Spectacle gala, hosted by Boston Harbor Now, where we honored Cathy and Jim Stone for the creation of the Stone Living Lab and their decades of leadership and support for Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park, along with other leaders for their work in keeping our shared waterfront spaces equitably accessible and maintained.

It was a night where a lot of valuable networking took place, as our office works hard in bringing equitable access to public spaces and parks. To see the many efforts that have taken place that has allowed the Harbor to be cleaned up, made more beautiful, and affordable to folks of all backgrounds was incredible to witness.

This weekend, October 8th and October 9th, the Spectacle Island ferry will only cost $5! Take a chance and visit this Bostonian gem before the season ends.

On September 16th, I got to join a few legislative offices on the Whale Watching Conservation Excursion! We got to learn how the New England Aquarium is working to promote responsible use of the ocean while also making it accessible for future generations. I even got to be joined by our very own Sam Montaño as we saw a few whales break the surface. It was an amazing adventure and I hope to provide opportunities like this one to the youth in our district for next Summer, in one way or another.
