Happy LGBTQ History Month!

The month of October is not only a time to celebrate LGBTQ history and reflect on past accomplishments, but to work together to meet today’s issues with action.

Because of the trailblazers who have proudly stood up and made their voices heard, we’ve made incredible progress over the past few years. However, the work is far from over — in the majority of the U.S. LGBTQ folks still face discrimination just because who they are and who they love.

I won’t stand for injustice. I’ve consistently opposed anti-LGBTQ laws that would roll our state backwards, and fought for equal rights for all Americans. That’s why I cosponsored the Equality Act — a bill that amends federal civil rights law to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.

After the serious blow that the reversal of Roe dealt to our progressive movement, it became all too clear whose rights would be next on the chopping block. Obergefell v. Hodges must be codified into law — which is why I supported the Respect for Marriage Act , a critical piece of legislation that would protect all marriages under federal law and repeal the unconstitutional Defense of Marriage Act .

It’s clear that our fight for equality and justice is not over yet. Our rights, including LGBTQ rights, are hanging by a thread this election, and we need the resources to stand strong as advocates.

We’re a month away from Election Day, and too much is on the line for us to not be prepared. So, if you’re able, I’m personally asking you to make a contribution towards our campaign to stay on our path of progress.

Thanks for standing with me in uplifting LGBTQ rights. When we raise our voices together, we can accomplish anything.
