Representing Texas’s 32nd District is an honor for me. I was born and raised here, and I’ve seen the many challenges we’ve faced over the years, as well as the incredible strides we have made. I was raised by a single mother who was a public school teacher, and with the help of my family and this community, I was able to chase my version of the American dream. I’m working every day in Congress to make sure every North Texan has that same opportunity.
As a civil rights attorney and through my work at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, I have seen how good people and good policy can transform lives for the better.
Over the past two years, we’ve taken steps to make that type of impactful change in North Texas and across the country. But we’ve also seen how difficult the change-making process can be. It takes patience, courage, and determination to fight for what you know is right for the folks you represent.
I intend to continue fighting to protect a woman’s right to choose. I will continue working to make health care more accessible and affordable. I will continue to work to tackle the climate crisis, and I will defend our democracy and protect the right to vote.
