Good morning, John,

The midterms are just over a month away, and extremists are running, up and down the ballot. Their goal is not just to win this fall, but to gain the power to flip elections they don’t win in the future—beginning with the Presidential election in 2024.

It’s dangerous, anti-American, and it undermines the very foundation of our country. Together, we can shut it down, but we only have the next month to do it.

33 Days

When you wake up on November 9th, your last thought should be, “could I have done more?” We have 33 days, and that is enough time for you to make an impact and stave off fascism infecting our political system to ensure everyone’s vote counts now and into the future.

There is a good chance if we sat down for a coffee or a beer, we would not agree on all the issues, and maybe none, but I am sure we would agree on free and fair elections. I am sure we agree that we can have our views, and no one political party should rig the system in favor of one side forever. I am sure we would agree we want Pennsylvania to have a safe and fair political system for our children, grandchildren, and even our fellow Pennsylvanians.

I am 100% confident that in 33 days, we can still save our democracy, and you can wake up on November 9th thinking, “I made an impact.”

Here’s the most important action you can take this week in Pennsylvania:

#1 PA Action This Week
Forward this email to 5 people you think are ready to fight to save our democracy in PA or anyone you know who is still unsure about their vote. The more folks we have as part of our union, the more exponential an impact we can make.

You are at the front lines of ensuring our democracy persists through the next few years and beyond, and we will not succeed without your help. Your connection will beat a million-dollar ad campaign any day of the week.
We need whatever time you have to give. Talking to voters—your friends and neighbors, and voters across the state—about what’s at stake this election will move the needle more than millions of dollars of TV ads ever will. You are at the front lines of making sure our democracy persists through the next few years and beyond, and we will not succeed without your help.

Together,

Marc Ray, State Lead for Pennsylvania
Doylestown, PA

P.S. If you want an accurate weekly read on the state of play leading up to the midterms, check in this (and every) Friday with Joe Trippi’s That Trippi Show. You can also get great perspective Thursday nights with The Breakdown, featuring Rick Wilson and Tara Setmayer, as well as the Lincoln Project’s own signature podcast with Reed Galen.

Meanwhile, here’s a full list of carefully curated actions to make sure the time you spend defending our democracy is the most effective:
  • Make Calls to Mobilize PA Voters
Tuesdays & Wednesdays through Oct 26th 6-8pm ET
Virtual, join from anywhere. Vote by mail is a great way to get voters to the polls, and mail-in voters lean toward pro-democracy candidates. Let’s get as many mail-in voters to request their ballots by the October 24th deadline.

  • Phone Bank for Pro-democracy Candidate Susan Wild
Wednesdays through Nov 2nd, 6-8pm ET
Work from the Wild campaign headquarters in Bethlehem or virtually from home. Make calls to engage voters and increase turnout in favor of pro-democracy candidates.

  • Knock on Doors in Scranton for Matt Cartwright
Saturdays & Sundays through Oct 30th, three times available
Matt Cartwright is the only pro-democracy candidate who won a Trump district in 2016, 2018, and 2020. Let’s keep Matt in office by making personal connections with voters.

  • Turning Outrage into Action!
    Monday, October 10  7:30 – 9pm EDT
The fight for our democracy doesn’t end on Election Day! Year-round action is needed not just at the national level, but also at state and local levels. We must remain continually vigilant to stop the GOP from destroying voting and civil rights and help prevent extreme right wing attacks against our school boards and local governments.
(And please, if you pitch in, don’t forget to complete our brief Event Follow-Up form.) It’s our way of tracking our progress and impact in these crucial weeks before the midterms.
