Hello, Dan
“Conservatives sense that modern people are dwarfs on the shoulders of giants, able to see farther than their ancestors only because of the great stature of those who have preceded us.”
- Russell Kirk
You don’t hear much about our
rich tradition of ordered liberty these days. Our media and institutions are too busy attacking the generations that came before us.
But we owe those who came before us a great debt which is why ISI hosts our annual
Gala for Western Civilization.
Join us Thursday, October 13, at the historic Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington, D.C, as we honor
American thinkers and doers fighting for Western Civilization.
If you’re an ISI alum under 30, registration is only $50!
At the Gala, you’ll hear:
-
Chair of the Department of History at the University of Dallas,
Susan Hanssen, who will give the keynote address
-
The William R. Kenan, Jr., Professor of Government,
Harvey C. Mansfield, who will receive ISI’s Charles H. Hoeflich Lifetime Achievement Award
-
Merton P. Stoltz Professor of Economics at Brown University,
Glenn Loury, who will receive ISI’s Faculty Award
Also, before our Western Civilization Gala, ISI will be hosting a Modern Age
Panel featuring Harvard professor of government Harvey Mansfield. Dan McCarthy
will be moderating
the panel in his role as editor-in-chief of Modern Age. Sam Goldman (George
Washington University) and Vickie Sullivan (Tufts University) will join Professor Mansfield as panelists.
This panel is free to attend and will include ample time for audience Q&A.
I hope to see you there and that you will join us for the Gala for Western Civilization afterwards.
