** Thank You 2019!
------------------------------------------------------------

As 2019 comes to a close, we are truly blessed to count on supporters like you who are helping us build a network that is advancing the civic leadership of Muslim youth and adults in our city. Moreover, we're incredibly proud to provide opportunities for individuals, teachers, employers, and interfaith partners to learn more about Muslims and our diverse and rich history in order to foster a harmonious and hate-free community.

So, how did we do? Here's our year in review:
Training 60 Muslim youth social justice leaders through our MYNYC program

Fostering interfaith leadership in 7 Muslim youth as part of our Generation Peace program
Hosting 2 Muslim Stakeholder Roundtable discussions with 25+ organizations to build a united and coordinated Muslim non-profit sector in NYC.

Mentoring 15 Muslim youth and securing 6 internships at places like Cooper Hewitt, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Brooklyn D.A's office, and JP Morgan Chase Investment program.
December 7th, 2019: NY State Senator Robert Jackson presents to our Bridge class on civic engagement
Educating more than 500 professionals, students, and teachers on Islam and how to make more inclusive environments for Muslims

Providing community education modules for the Muslim community by conducting 5 self-defense classes for women, and 3 civic action opportunities.

Advocating for our communities, helping shape the narrative, and building interfaith and intersectional coalitions for justice.
MCN Board Chair, Dr. Debbie Almontaser speaks at a press conference, among coalition, that helped introduce a $1 million pilot program to provide halal and kosher foods at NYC public schools.

Serving the community with 1,320 meals to the food insecure, providing support to 240 families at the NICU center, collecting more than $25,000 for refugees globally, and collecting and distributing 926 toys to the children citywide for Eid.

Recognizing the contributions of the individuals and allies making an impact on the Muslim community. Our gala recognized four incredible movers and shakers:
Our work speaks for itself.

We cannot do this work without the generous donations made by you. We hope you will consider making an end of the year gift to MCN for all the purposes described above. With your help, we will ensure that Muslims continue to shape and own our narrative in this country and beyond.

With Gratitude,

Aniqa Nawabi
Executive Director
