Our latest Impact Report is out today, cataloging all the real-world changes ProPublica’s journalism helped spur from May through August. We measure our investigative work not by clicks, but by impact. In recent months, among other reforms, our reporting has led to:

• President Joe Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law, which included a mandate for the IRS to study free tax filing options. These options have long been fought by the maker of TurboTax.
• Lawmakers approved $600 million to fix a housing program for Native Hawaiians.
• Alaska’s former attorney general was charged with sexual abuse of a minor.
• Louisiana halted lawsuits against Hurricane Katrina survivors who had been punished by a relief program intended to help them.
• Illinois lawmakers called on Gov. J.B. Pritzker to push the Department of Child and Family Services to improve access to mental health and substance abuse services.
