As a reminder, influenza can still circulate during the summer months. Due to the inaccuracy of the rapid influenza tests during the off-season, and the increased risk of novel influenza A viruses from agriculture and swine exposure, please send suspect influenza specimens to Maine Health and Environmental Testing Laboratory (HETL) for confirmation. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to [email protected]

This is the last monthly report of the 2021-2022 influenza surveillance season. Weekly influenza surveillance reports for the 2022-2023 influenza season will be published each Tuesday starting on October 18, 2022.
