DC gets first union Starbucks
Workers at the 1429 P St. NW store on Friday voted 10-6 in favor of joining Starbucks Workers United. "A @Starbucks labor victory in the @AFLCIO's backyard," tweeted AFL-CIO president Liz Shuler. More congressional staff vote union
A majority of staff in the offices of Representatives Ro Khanna and Ilhan Omar have voted to unionize, reported the Congressional Workers Union on Friday. "For the first time ever in the history of Congress, workers across Capitol Hill are unionizing," said Rep. Khanna, "I want to congratulate my staff for helping to lead the campaign and becoming the second office on the hill to unionize."

Lierman talks with labor about how to "Build A Better Maryland"
Maryland Comptroller Democratic nominee Brooke Lierman had "an important and insightful discussion about how to best work together to build an economy that invests in workers and supports everyone," at a meeting Friday with labor unions from across the state, as part of her "Build A Better Maryland" tour.
