John,

I learned about mitzvot as a kid in Hebrew school – it means “commandment” or “righteous deed.”

It’s part of why I joined the Navy at 17 – not exactly a typical career path for girls at my temple, but I felt compelled to do something good for my country.

It’s why I decided to make my first run for public office back in 2018, when no one expected that I’d win.

And after our democracy was attacked, I was compelled to do everything in my power to demand justice and ensure that it never happened again. It came with admittedly huge political risk, but mitzvot isn’t about doing what’s easy. It’s about doing what’s right.

That’s exactly why I’m facing the toughest election battle of my career. I’m being attacked with every resource that the far right can muster – $4 million and counting.

I’m relying on help from folks like you so I can continue fighting for our democracy in Washington. Just a little gelt goes a long way in this dead-heat battleground race – so please, will you contribute $25 or more today?

Elaine Luria
