WASHINGTON D.C. – Last week, I joined my fellow Republicans in introducing our Commitment to America. Over the past year and a half, Democrat rule in Washington has done immense damage to our country. Crime rates are at record highs, inflation rates continue to climb, gas prices are skyrocketing, and the border crisis is wreaking havoc on communities across the country. Our Commitment to America is a clear vision for the future of our country. We will rebuild the greatest economy in our history, we will restore the American way of life, and we will renew the American dream. You can read more about our vision here. I had a productive meeting with Stonehenge Capital in Dallas on Monday, the largest financier of federal and state tax credits in the country, to hear about the impacts they are making in Texas. I also met with Grapevine Drug RX to discuss policies that ensure our pharmacies in North Texas continue to thrive. On Thursday, I met with the Investment Adviser Association to discuss how the bipartisan Secure 2.0 Act will strengthen Americans’ retirement savings and make it easier for small businesses to set up retirement plans for their workers. Don't forget, my office has a few approaching deadlines: My Youth Advisory Council is a leadership opportunity for high school students in Texas’ 24th Congressional District to participate in an interactive learning experience and develop leadership skills. The deadline to apply is 5:00pm on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. It is an honor to nominate the best and brightest students of Texas 24th District to the Military Academy of their choice. The deadline to apply for an academy nomination is 5:00pm on October 7, 2022. It's also an honor to award the distinguished veterans of North Texas with the Congressional Veteran Commendation. If you or someone you know resides in the 24th District of Texas and has served our nation, please submit completed nomination packets to my District Office no later than 5:00 pm on October 7, 2022. Hometown Hero of the Week Our TX-24 Hometown Hero of the Week is Dallas Police Officer Ronald Cronin, whose courageous actions stopped an active shooter at Dallas Love Field Airport in July. Rep. (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action) Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining"! Rep.
