Hi everyone -- Jamie Raskin, here.

I’m going to ask you to contribute $25 to Morgan’s campaign ahead of tonight’s critical FEC deadline. But first, let me explain why.

We’re at an important time in our country’s history, and the stakes for the midterm elections in November are incredibly high.

I was in Washington, DC and on the House floor on January 6 when Donald Trump incited a riot and urged his supporters to attack the Capitol to stop the certification of the 2020 Presidential election.

I was there when they stormed the Capitol and broke windows to gain access, when all of the members of Congress were evacuated for their safety, and when a Capitol Police Officer was killed and dozens of others injured.

For the past year and a half, I have worked on the January 6th Committee to investigate that attack, and to bring to light the forces that would have overthrown our democracy.

If Republicans take control of the House of Representatives, then all that work will go up in smoke. The January 6th Committee will be disbanded, and those responsible for leading an insurrection against the United States will not be investigated.

We can’t let that happen. And that’s why I need you to support Morgan McGarvey’s campaign for Congress.

We need leaders who aren’t afraid to stand up for the truth. Whether it’s fighting back against far-right attacks on our democracy or voting to protect a woman’s right to an abortion, we need leaders in Congress willing to push us all forward.

I know Morgan McGarvey is that kind of leader. He will fight for change. He will stand up for our country. He’s done it for 10 years in the Kentucky State Senate, and I know he’ll do it in Congress.

The truth is that the GOP only needs to flip five seats to take the House, and Louisville’s Congressional District is a “must-hold” race with a retiring incumbent. Right now, he’s facing his last quarterly FEC fundraising deadline before the election at midnight tonight. Morgan is counting on his grassroots supporters to help him hit his end-of-quarter goal and power his campaign through Election Day. That’s why I’m asking:

Will you chip in $25 or anything you can to Morgan’s campaign before the FEC deadline? There’s never been a more important time to step up.
