Register today for upcoming webinars on Michigan Coastal Management Program's 2024 Grant Funding Opportunity
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), Water Resources Division (WRD), is pleased to announce the Michigan Coastal Management Program (MCMP) 2024 Grant Funding Opportunity (GFO). As a program, the MCMP plans for growth and change in our coastal communities; protects, preserves, restores, enhances, and wisely develops coastal areas for use and enjoyment to improve quality of life; and builds partnerships to create networks that strengthen and expand the collective impact of effective and efficient coastal management. The MCMP seeks to enhance the preparedness and resiliency of coastal communities and their capacity to mitigate the impacts of coastal hazards.
The following webinars are intended for coastal local units of government, educational institutions, regional planning agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits. For those that cannot attend, the webinars will be recorded and made available on the MCMP Web site, Michigan.gov/CoastalManagement. Applications are due no later than December 2, 2022.
This first webinar is for all applicants and will cover application requirements, program objectives, and funding preferences. All interested in this funding should attend.
This second webinar is for applicants seeking funding for on-the-ground implementation work and will cover specific requirements for low-cost construction projects, such as state and federal permitting considerations, environmental compliance, historic preservation review, project construction footprint, timing of activities, and materials.
