Jen Jordan needs your help to win this year's election for Georgia Attorney General. Her opponent is part of the GOP machine that has helped engineer a series of court decisions that have restricted our rights, made our communities less safe, and inhibited our efforts to protect the environment. If you can, please donate $10 before Jen's public fundraising deadline on Friday →

John, we were heartened that Congress finally passed major climate legislation this summer. But we still have a long way to go in the fight to protect our planet — and we face some major barriers that Republican Attorneys General (like our opponent, Chris Carr) are responsible for.

Shortly after overturning Roe v. Wade this past summer, the Supreme Court issued yet another devastating decision for our country: it severely limited the ability of the EPA to regulate the harmful emissions that are causing climate change and putting our most vulnerable communities at risk.

Right before this decision, The New York Times reported on the years-long effort by Republicans to weaken environmental laws and protect polluters.

New York Times: "Republican Drive to Tilt Courts Against Climate Action Reaches a Crucial Moment"

Not only have Republicans made sure to appoint highly partisan judges — they've also invested heavily in electing Attorneys General who will bring cases against the regulations that their corporate allies oppose.

Attorneys General have the power to set in motion major pieces of litigation, and Republicans have made use of this for decades. It's time we fought back by electing an AG who will champion people, not big campaign donors.

Time and time again, Republican Attorneys General around the country — including Chris Carr — have put our environment and the health of Georgians at risk. Carr applauded the efforts to limit the EPA's authority, and he sat on his hands when Georgians asked him to help shut down a plant that was releasing cancer-causing chemicals.

Jen is running to defeat Carr because Georgians deserve a legal advocate who doesn't hesitate to protect them and isn't afraid to hold powerful interests accountable. Can you donate $10 today to help elect a proud champion for environmental quality and public health as our next Attorney General? We need to raise another $20,083 before our end-of-month deadline, and there are only 48 hours left to go.

Thank you,
