John,

CNN just reported that in the lead-up to January 6, then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows was in direct contact with Phil Waldron — an election conspiracy theorist whose fabricated claims I directly countered during a December 2020 State Senate hearing (when I was done questioning him, he had admitted that he had no proof that any fraud had occurred in Georgia).

Waldron openly discussed with Meadows his efforts to gain access to voting systems in Georgia and other battleground states — Waldron wanted Trump to declare a national emergency and direct U.S. Marshals to seize ballots. It's terrifying that someone like Waldron had a direct line to the White House, and it's outrageous that Georgia leaders such as Chris Carr have had nothing to say about the coordinated effort to subvert democracy in our state.

As Attorney General, I'll use the full power of my office to protect election security and take on anyone who would illegally try to suppress the voices of Georgians. Will you chip in $10 to help me win this high-stakes race in just 41 days?

I faced down electoral conspiracy theorists at a time when many of our state officials were not only silent but actively participating in efforts to overturn the results of the election.

We certainly didn't get the leadership we needed from Chris Carr; he was leading an organization that was sending out robocalls telling people to rally in D.C. on January 6 and funneling money to the "stop the steal" effort.

As the January 6 committee's recent hearings have shown, the threats to our democracy are still great. We need public officials at all levels who can be trusted to protect voting rights and who refuse to be intimidated into overturning the will of the people.

It's time for Georgia to have an Attorney General who doesn't hesitate to defend our democracy. Help me defeat Chris Carr by donating before our end-of-month fundraising deadline on Friday — we need to raise $21,806 more, and your support is critical to getting us past the finish line.

Thank you,
