Last week America celebrated Climate Week – but here on Team Bonta, every week is Climate Week, so I wanted to take the opportunity to tell you what I’m doing to protect our environment for future generations.
You might remember when the Trump administration opened up public lands in central California to fossil fuel drilling. We responded by putting a stop to new drilling and fracking efforts in central California.
Fracking is detrimental for our state, our country, and our planet. Not only does it put Californians’ health at risk, it takes us backwards in our fight against climate change.
But we’re not stopping there. Just this month, we filed charges to hold corporations accountable after tens of thousands of gallons of petroleum spilled from an underwater pipeline off the coast of Huntington Beach, near Los Angeles – because we must do everything we can to stop pollution, act on climate change, and preserve a future for our kids.
That’s why right now, I’m asking you to chip in to my campaign so I can put a stop to fracking, protect our communities, and curb climate change.
As the impacts of climate change continue to affect us every day in California and across the globe, I’m dedicated to doing everything I can to take on Big Oil and protect our environment and our communities from the dangerous effects of drilling and fracking.
