Hillsborough County has issued a mandatory evacuation for Evacuation Zone A (red below) as well as those in mobile and manufactured homes and residents in low-lying areas. Local shelters are open. Here's a link to see you zone and local shelters.

I have also been consolidating resources, helpful links, and updates at my hurricane action page here.

If you're not in an evacuation zone, please don't panic. Get your food/water, ice, propane, etc... but don't be greedy, we're all going to get through this together.

Pro tips from someone who has done many of these including losing a roof to Hurricane Charley:

Go take a video of your home, outside and inside in case you have any future insurance claims. Upload it to cloud storage in case your device is compromised.

Empty your ice tray into a cooler and start saving as much as you can now. If the power is out for an extended period, ice is your friend to save what you have in the fridge. Also, place a cube on a wire shelf in your freezer, when/if the ice melts, the food will have melted too.

Fill old bottles & jugs with tap water for cooking if the water goes out.

Again, be nice to each other... charge your batteries but also go find some board games you can play with the family while the power is out. Be safe and hunker down.

We will get through this, together.
