Early this week, a Pennsylvania House committee voted in favor of the Convention of States Resolution!
Speaking in favor of the resolution, Rep. Matthew Gabler outlined all the ways the federal government has undermined the decision-making power of Pennsylvanians.
"There might be ways to make our system work better for Pennsylvania," he explained, "but if we make changes that are more efficient, that might save $1 million here or there, we might risk losing billions of dollars because we don't quite comply with the federal strings attached."
Gabler and his colleagues voted to pass the resolution 13-11.
The next step is a full vote by the Pennsylvania House.
Congratulations to the Convention of States team in Pennsylvania on this important milestone!
P.S. We're engaged in efforts like this in states across the country. Will you help us continue the fight by taking advantage of our December matching challenge? If you contribute before December 31, a generous donor has agreed to match every dollar -- $20 becomes $40, $500 becomes $1000.
