States began passing bills to punish women and abortion providers with decades-long jail sentences, life in prison, and even the death penalty — that’s how deep “pro-life” hypocrisy runs. As these bills proliferated in state legislatures with anti-choice majorities, the extremists behind them ratcheted up their violent rhetoric to demonize and dehumanize pregnant people, abortion providers, and pro-choice advocates.
