Dear Friends,

Our family loves the holidays! For all 30 years of our marriage, we have sent out an annual holiday family message. This 2019 holiday note was not written by consultants, but rather is penned straight from my heart as John’s spouse. I want people to know who we are, what John stands for, and why we undertook this incredible journey. Our goal was always to bring this country together, to lift it
up in common purpose, and to be guided by faith, truth, love, and grace.

These past two years have been an amazing journey, and John has given his heart and soul to it. As an entrepreneur and visionary, he believes our country must work together to solve problems. He believes the hard path is telling the truth, focusing on the future, and showing up in forgotten communities. He has visited all 99 counties in Iowa, covered all of New Hampshire, done over 600 events, written a book, The Right Answer, and laid out his vision for America in a 30-minute TV Special.

John’s campaign motto — Leadership. Unity. Vision. — reflects the values we believe in. He’s the son of a union electrician and the first in his family to attend college. As an Idaho potato farmer’s daughter, I met John at Georgetown Law Center. Only in America, right? After we married, John went on to create two New York Stock Exchange listed companies, creating thousands of jobs and providing financing to thousands of small businesses. We always gave back to our community and John became a Member of Congress from Maryland in 2012. He believes that “the cost of doing nothing is not nothing” and that our toxic gridlock has hurt Americans. Our work — as a couple — was focused on building relationships across the aisle.

We believe that bringing our country together, working towards improving the lives of working-class Americans, and making smart investments in our future is the best means to make a difference. And we believe that these ideals are the roadmap for winning the White House. While most of John’s ideas have now been adopted by the other 2020 candidates, John’s unique distinction is still his background; John is from a blue-collar family and he is the only 2020 candidate that has been both an entrepreneur/business leader and Member of Congress.

We are staying in the fight and are asking that you get to know John better.
The economic issues facing this country — particularly in rural America — are John’s principal focus. Please tune into the 30-minute TV Special on John airing this month on television, or check it out at johndelaney.com/solutions. Most importantly, please focus on his record as a problem solver and his achievable solutions to address equality of opportunity, climate change, health care, and toxic partisanship and gridlock.

Every Christmas Eve our entire family watches the holiday classic, “The Polar Express.” We are always touched by the little boy who comes to believe … to believe in the spirit of Christmas, in faith, in others, and in something beyond ourselves. We, too, believe... and we believe with leadership, unity, and vision that our country can step forward with faith and lift up in common purpose. God bless you and keep you during this holiday season, and together we can look toward 2020 with hope and optimism.

With warmest wishes,

April and John Delaney
