I am outraged by the Trump administration's heartless attempts to undermine our social safety nets. The recent attack on the SNAP Nutritional program is a cruel and senseless assault on 700,000 of our most vulnerable community members.

No one should have to worry about putting food on the table - especially during the holiday season. We need 100,000 grassroots Democrats to demand the Trump Administration protect SNAP benefits: add your name.

Donations are still coming in, but in the spirit of Human Rights Day, I want to share an update on the Monte's March fundraising drive to benefit the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.

The Trump Administration announced a final rule that will take food benefits away from nearly 700,000 vulnerable Americans. Think about that - while those of us were walking 43 miles to fight hunger, the Trump Administration was finalizing a rule to make it worse - over the Thanksgiving week. Heartless.

That's why every dollar we raised during Monte's March is even more needed than ever.

Because of your help, we raised awareness about food insecurity and $337,041.18 - with each dollar providing three meals to a person in need - we've provided over a million meals.

Monte's March

Every year, each of these 43 miles reminds me how thankful I am to be part of this community, and for the privilege of representing you. I really mean it, thank you. Your support of Monte's March and making meaningful change in this country is everything.

Forward,

Jim
