As a Marine Corps veteran who served multiple tours and was wounded in combat, I've seen a lot.

But what we're seeing from today's Republican Party shocks me. And it makes me worried about the future of American democracy, and freedom.

My opponent in this race is Ken Buck, one of the most extreme anti-abortion advocates in Congress who is on the record saying "I don't believe in the exceptions of rape or incest" for abortion bans. That's why the GOP's national abortion ban is so troubling:

People like Ken Buck and Lindsey Graham, the sponsor of the bill that would make abortion illegal in every state, aren’t going to stop until women are never allowed to make private medical decisions with their doctors.

We have to push back on every single Republican lawmaker and candidate who is pushing a radical right wing or religious agenda on the rest of the country. These extremists' views represent a small, but vocal, minority of the American population but they know how to manipulate the political system for personal gain.
