War Abolition 201 is for you if you want to:

✓ Find out what is needed to dismantle the war machine and replace it with a peace system
✓ Engage in reflection and learning with other peace activists, advocates, and educators.
This course has everything you need to help you make the best case for pursuing an alternative global security system - one in which peace is pursued by peaceful means.
The course takes place over six weeks and will begin on the 10th of October, 2020. Weekly content includes a mix of text, images, video, and audio, and you will conclude the course with organising and action ideas. The course is not live – so you can study at your own pace. A certificate is provided to participants who complete all written assignments.
War Abolition 201 is led by noted peacebuilding professionals who guide you through the learning process. While you can browse the full list of instructors and topics here, it may be helpful to give a sense of the instructors and course content in this email. As one example, Week 3, on Ecological Security and Building a Peace Economy, is facilitated by human rights, disarmament, arms control, and nuclear non-proliferation expert, Yasmin Natalia Espinoza Goecke. Here you will explore the interlinkages between the environmental crisis and war and address the practicalities of building a peace economy including the economics of war and realigning military spending, among others.
