Advocating for a robust trade agenda

At this week's Ways and Means hearing on trade, I discussed the need for US leadership on trade, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region where China continues to exert their influence. Trade is critical for our ag producers, manufacturers, and small businesses in Illinois. On the Ways and Means Committee, I will continue to be an advocate to a trade agenda that benefits our communities in central and west-central Illinois.

Biofuels champion: Fueling Growth Award

I am proud to support Illinois' leading biofuels industry in Congress. A strong RFS and ethanol industry is critical to our state's economy and supports our farmers. Thanks to Growth Energy for awarding me with the Fueling Growth Award for being a biofuels champion.

Always enjoy visiting with Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, a champion for our Midwest values, rural communities, and agriculture.

Supporting Illinois job creators

Small businesses are backbone of our communities. On the Ways and Means Committee, I am proud to advocate for Illinois small businesses on important economic issues. I am honored to receive NFIB’s Guardian of Small Business award for my record of supporting job creators.

Visiting with 18th District veterans

Thanks to Jay and Claude from the Illinois VFW for stopping by this week in DC to discuss issues facing our veteran community. I am grateful for their service to our country and for their continued advocacy on behalf of Illinois veterans.

Congrats to Judge Don Knapp!

Great day in Bloomington as my good friend Don Knapp was sworn in as the newest 11th Circuit Court Judge! Don served honorably as the McLean State’s Attorney for the past four years and will be a terrific addition to the Circuit Court. He is smart, fair, and has never forgotten where he came from. Congrats to Judge Knapp and his lovely family! Wishing you all the best.
