Just when we thought we’d seen the GOP hit rock bottom for how low they’d go to try to win an election, they surprised us yet again.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Texas Governor Greg Abbott have resorted to trafficking by bullying, lying to, intimidating, and dehumanizing immigrants and refugees in order to score cheap political points ahead of their respective elections.

People who crossed the southern border were rounded up, in some cases denied necessary medical treatment, tricked into boarding buses and planes, lied to about their destinations, falsely promised they would have housing and jobs when they arrived, and randomly assigned home addresses of homeless shelters around the country.

All Republican arguments about the illegality of crossing the border or the merits of the particular cases are null and void. Americans abhor human trafficking and do not treat fellow human beings like livestock by shipping them around the country to score political points. Full stop.

Normally we at Worst Behavior Watch request that you make a donation to help us hold Republicans accountable. But because of the reckless inhumanity that DeSantis and Abbott have shown, we have a different ask for you today: let DeSantis and Abbott know what you think of their political stunt.
