Updates From The Campaign Trail

We were thrilled to welcome Rep. Ted Lieu to the district along with the Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon (APANO) and introduce him to the dedicated Oregonians doing the on-the-ground work of making our communities more equitable.

Jamie joined the Wilamette Women Democrats’ forum earlier this month to discuss immigration, fighting for our students, and what it will take to add more women to the Oregon delegation.

Since Jamie first ran for city council, her dad has always made time to join her for a day of knocking on doors. This month, they continued the tradition!

ICYMI: Letters to the Editor in Support of Jamie

“Radical Republicans say they will spread the abortion ban nationally if they regain congressional control. We can help foil this misogynist plan by electing Jamie McLeod-Skinner, who will work to federally codify women's rights to choose if and when they give birth.” – Jackie Brown, Aug. 02, 2022, Portland Tribune

“My 72-year-old self was stunned to discover first-hand the difficulties a young person faces getting their independent life started in northwestern Oregon [...] We need more voices in Congress advocating for working families and opportunities for our young people. Having heard, spoken personally with and then researched Jamie McLeod-Skinner, I can’t overstate my enthusiasm for this dynamic woman running to represent the 5th Congressional District. Check her out. She relates to regular Oregonians, cares about these problems and will work to deliver for us.” – Cathy Whiting, Aug. 21, 2022, The Oregonian

“Jamie McCleod-Skinner understands problems related to global warming. She has had hands-on experience in wildfire response, as well as the drought related problems affecting our farmers and ranchers. When asked about her approach to climate change, she talks about the need for improving our country’s infrastructure for clean energy, as well as coordinated responses to climate related crises that are already happening. I am voting for Jamie because she has common sense approaches to solving problems that affect all of us, not just Republicans or Democrats.” – Lori Brizee, Aug. 25, 2022, The Bend Bulletin

“Extreme weather events resulting from climate change affect all of us. We are at a turning point in the planet’s future, and must elect people who will prioritize addressing these threats. Jamie McLeod-Skinner learned firsthand how devastating wildfires can be to families whose homes and livelihoods have been destroyed when she led wildfire recovery efforts in the city of Talent. She secured millions of dollars in aid and housing for those affected.” – Susan Leonard, Aug. 26, 2022, Albany Democrat-Herald

We’re proud that Jamie’s campaign has earned the endorsement of 15 different unions, including Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Oregon, Oregon AFL-CIO, AFSCME and American Federation of Teachers – Oregon.
