Despite the fact that climate change is the biggest threat to our future generations, Republicans and the radical majority on the Supreme Court have hamstrung efforts to reduce emissions and have slowed down climate action for years.

But now, thanks to Congressional Democrats and the Biden administration, we’ve just taken the most significant action toward addressing the climate crisis in HISTORY.

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which was signed into law last month, not only provides an unprecedented $369 billion investment into combating climate change, it also amends the Clean Air Act to add seven specific new programs to reduce emissions and classifies greenhouse gasses as a form of air pollution .

This is HUGE. At a time when the radical Supreme Court is hellbent on gutting the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) regulatory power, this amendment will strengthen the EPA’s ability to take action on reigning in climate change. This wouldn’t have been possible without the work of Democrats in Congress like Lori who fought tirelessly to get this historic legislation passed.

But team, if Republicans take back the House this November, they will undoubtedly try to roll back all the progress we’ve made to tackle the climate crisis.
