WASHINGTON D.C. – Democrats are failing Americans on transportation policy. I wrote an op-ed on the damage they have caused as well as my efforts to address them. You can read the entire op-ed here. The National Federation of Independent Businesses awarded me their Guardian of Small Business Award on Wednesday. Small businesses make up over 98% of employers in Texas and have shown a remarkable resilience in the last two years. I will continue to work in North Texas and in Congress to encourage and promote these business owners and entrepreneurs. I had a productive meeting with the Asian American Hotel Owner's Association to discuss the future of the hospitality industry post-pandemic and how we can work to help them solve problems like the labor shortage. I also met with the amazing folks from CHRISTUS Health, who are doing incredible work for the North Texas healthcare industry. I look forward to continuing our efforts to improve healthcare for everyone in Texas-24. It is always a good day when the district comes to visit in D.C. I enjoyed meeting with some of the Dallas City Council members to discuss their future transportation projects. As a former city council member, I appreciate how hard they work for their city. Yesterday was our final hearing with the Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress. It has been an honor to work with my amazing colleagues on both sides of the aisle to create a more efficient Congress. Hometown Hero of the Week Our Hometown Hero of the Week is Crystal Scanio for her work with the Irving Schools Foundation and ensuring the next generation of North Texans is set up for success. You can read more about the Irving Schools Foundation here. I would love to hear more stories from constituents who have worked to brighten our amazing North Texas community. If you or someone you know fits this description, be sure to fill out this short Texas-24 Hometown Hero survey. Rep.
