If you’ve been following our campaign for a while, you’ll know we’ve been sounding the alarm about our opponent and the disinformation she’s been spreading across our state. We’re not the only ones that have noticed. Here’s what the Minnesota Reformer said in its latest report:

“Kim Crockett, the Republican candidate for Minnesota secretary of state, has made a litany of erroneous statements about election administration during her campaign to be the state’s top election official.”

Leading with the truth, especially after the 2020 election, and ensuring that Minnesotans have faith in our elections (which, by the way, they overwhelmingly do!) are essential to the job of Secretary of State.

With report after report about our opponent saying that she’s not telling the truth, it’s critical that we re-elect Steve Simon. Our biggest fundraising deadline is in a few days and we still need to raise $35k. This race is one of the most important in the country. Will you please chip in now? [[link removed]]

Our opponent has told a lot of falsehoods during this campaign. We’ll let the Minnesota Reformer tell you about them:

*
She
said
the
Secretary
of
State
counts
the
votes.
That’s
false.
Counties
and
cities
count
votes.
*
She
said
the
Secretary
of
State
mailed
her
a
ballot,
but
that’s
impossible.
Cities
and
counties
mail
ballots,
not
the
Secretary
of
State.
*
She
said
military
ballots
were
delivered
to
the
Secretary
of
State’s
office.
That’s
false:
They
go
back
to
the
county
that
sent
them.
*
She
said
she
wasn’t
sure
whether
military
ballots
are
counted
by
counties
or
the
state.
Ballots
aren’t
counted
by
the
state.
*
She
has
repeatedly
said
the
state’s
residency
requirement
for
elections
is
20
days
in
a
precinct,
which
is
false.
*
She
said
postmarks
are
required
on
absentee
ballot
envelopes.
That’s
false.
*
She
said
when
the
state
was
under
Democratic
control,
absentee
balloting
was
expanded
from
“a
week
or
two”
of
early
voting
to
46
days.
That’s
false.
*
She
repeatedly
claims
Minnesota
got
rid
of
voter
ID:
Minnesota
has
never
required
identification
to
vote.
*
She
frequently
complains
about
“the
widespread
use
of
drop
boxes
in
DFL-strongholds”
such
as
Minneapolis,
which
has
never
had
unstaffed
ballot
drop
boxes.

We are up against a lot this year and the most important thing we’re trying to do is reach more voters with the truth. That’s hard to do in a year where disinformation activists are getting louder and louder.

We need Steve’s steady leadership in the Secretary of State’s office. Our next challenge is our September 20th public fundraising deadline. How much we raise WILL be used as a benchmark of strength for our campaign, which is why we can’t fall short. Will you please chip in $10 or more right away to help us close our $35k gap?
