When Roe v. Wade was overturned, I was not surprised. I was deeply saddened and worried by the fact that essential healthcare would no longer be available to millions. I needed to be with my community.

That’s how I met Miranda, Stevie, and Em. Together, we mourned and rallied for reproductive rights with hundreds of St. Cloud residents, righteously angry and ready for action. We met up afterwards to talk about what we could do to organize our community in a post-Roe world, centering love for our people.

We decided now is a crucial moment for political education – not just on abortion access but around a bigger vision for Reproductive Justice.

That’s why we’re inviting you to Removing the Stigma: Reproductive Justice Political Education, a virtual event on Thursday, September 22 at 6pm. Join us.

Reproductive Justice is a concept developed by Black women. It’s a vision for communities where all people have the economic, social, and political power and resources to make healthy decisions about our bodies, sexuality, and reproduction. It’s about everyone having the opportunity to live in dignity and joy – across race, gender, and income – from birth until death.

Stigma and shame are tools used by our opposition to keep us from joining together to fight for our rights. When we let go of stigma and shame, when we share our stories and connect to others, we build our power. Accessible abortion care without shame is key to realizing the full vision of Reproductive Justice.
