Dear Ward 8 Residents,

We are excited to announce the 2nd Annual Ward 8 Trunk & Treat community event in partnership with Bullying is Not Dope. This year's event will take place on:

2nd Annual Ward 8 Trunk & Treat
Saturday, October 29, 2022
4:00pm - 7:00pm

Location
Oxon Run Park
On the corner of Wheeler Rd SE & Valley Ave SE
Washington DC 20020
On the field near the basketball courts

Trunk & Treat is a safe alternative to the regular trick-or-treating we see during Halloween, allowing children to walk from vehicle to vehicle to collect candy and snacks along the way.

Hosting this style of event offers some added benefits for parents. For example, families can keep a closer eye on their kids as they go from car to car rather than allowing their children to move around the neighborhood to knock on doors.

In addition to the trunk & treat vehicles, the event will host several activities, including:
* Game truck
* Bounce house
* Hayrides
* Facepainting
* Food, drinks, concession snacks and
* Live performances

We invite residents, community leaders, and business owners to join in the festivities by entering their decorated vehicles into the trunk & treat or support the event by making a charitable donation to keep this safer alternative for children and families.

For more information about this event, please contact Jules Jessie, Communications Director, at: [email protected] or 202-724-8045.

Regards,

Trayon White, Sr.
Councilmember, Ward 8
