(CO) Wibby Brewing partners with Elite Brands for distribution in Colorado

Longmont, Colo.-based Wibby Brewing, announced a partnership for distribution with Elite Brands of Colorado. Wibby Brewing is known for their American-influenced German-style lagers. Ryan Wibby, co-founder and brewmaster of Wibby Brewing, said, “Elite has a world-class portfolio and an outstanding reputation of supporting and growing brands and we look forward to a successful partnership.”

Amazon prohibits CBD sales, but it’s still easy to buy on the site

CBD is now found in chocolates, gummy candies, sodas and more but Amazon's policy expressly bars the sale of CBD in any product. Still, a Washington Post investigation found that it's easy to buy the forbidden compound on the online retail site. Eleven of 13 items The Post purchased last month from Amazon contained CBD. One product even had a small amount of THC, the psychoactive chemical in cannabis plants that gets people high.

Jobless claims fall back in mid-December after spiking to a more than two-year high

The number of Americans applying for unemployment benefits fell in mid-December after a post-Thanksgiving surge, returning closer to the extremely low level of layoffs that has prevailed over the past few years. New claims had jumped in early December to 252,000 to mark the highest level in more than two years. The increase stemmed from a late Thanksgiving holiday that skewed the government’s process for adjusting the numbers for seasonal swings in employment.
