22 Veteran suicides per day... the DOD, VA, and government are not doing enough...

** The lingering casualties of September 11th 2001…
------------------------------------------------------------

Good morning my friends, Ike here…

It took a few days to get this out… I hope you all take a moment from your day to reach out and thank a veteran for their service! We are grateful for their sacrifices, every day! I was invited to three events on Sept. 10th this year… unfortunately one of those was a wake.

This is my salute to all those that have left us a little early due to the impacts of 9/11, we have the watch! We feel your pain! We will see you in Valhalla!

Semper Fidelis!

I remember the attacks on our Nation vividly and remember our Nation unified like never before in my lifetime.

In the picture above a best friend of mine Pete, a fellow Marine, and the crew are hanging out after finishing the 180 mile Colorado Relay in a five person team. After struggling with depression and post service alcoholism a few years later Pete committed suicide. I was devastated, we attended his wake in January of 2019.

Unfortunately, just a few years later my buddy Brad featured below “attending Pete’s celebration of life” would take his own life as well, leaving behind three kids and two shattered marriages.

The Government Congress and the VA are not doing enough, PERIOD. Every veteran should have access to 100% local and free to the veteran, mental healthcare.

If we do not address it and fully fund veterans access to metal healthcare in every American community the problem will only get worse.

On Sept 11 2001, almost 3,000 Americans lost their lives to senseless acts of terrorism.

As we pray for their loved ones and reflect on the countless sacrifices of brave civilians and emergency responders, we must renew calls for American Unity and reject the individual leaders that have used fabricated rhetoric and artificial division to turn Americans against each other for personal gain…

20 to 22 veterans die on average every day from taking their own lives.

Funding mental healthcare for every veteran in every community should be Congressional priority number one. Ignoring or not addressing their predicament directly dishonors their service and sacrifice. Honoring their service entails telling their stories and establishing the services for our veterans that catch our brothers and sisters before they slip through a gap.

It is impossible to communicate the lasting tole that combat trauma, the resulting hyper vigilance, elevated stress, and the anxiety that Marine Corps service and combat injuries cause.

The Country is experiencing unprecedented challenges and division. The rhetoric that is turning Americans against each other is also killing our veterans. Unity is more important and more fragile than at any point in our lives.

My opponent voted against funding for post 9/11 emergency workers exposed to toxic environments in the post 9/11 cleanup of NYC.

My opponent voted against funding for veterans healthcare for service members like myself exposed to toxic burn pits in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Substance abuse plays a huge role the Veteran Suicide epidemic. Not surprisingly legislation, dubbed the Restoring Hope for Mental Health and Well-Being Act, cleared the House ([link removed]) in a 402-20 vote.

Buck voted NO, paying lip service to veterans and not funding programs that are desperately needed in the veteran community.

I fight for my fellow Americans, for liberty, freedom, democracy, kids, and veterans!

Protecting our kids and funding healthcare for veterans are not partisan issues. Protecting our kids and our veterans are American issues. However, a few radicals like my opponent Representative Buck and his crony Lauren Boebert are even willing to use our veterans and children as pawns in their tenures of self service in government.

#medicareforall is more needed than ever before!

We must never forget their sacrifice and we must write into federal law financial protections and support for the families they leave behind!
