You probably saw that yesterday Lindsey Graham introduced a truly hateful bill to criminalize abortion in all 50 states. Let me be very clear what this means: no matter where a woman lives, this bill would take away her fundamental right to control her own body.

With the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, it was only a matter of time before the GOP introduced this bill. And Lindsey Graham even said it at his press conference - if the Republicans take control of the House, they will have the votes to pass it.

But we don’t have to wait that long to see the consequences of these terrible bills. We already see the devastating effects of abortion bans in Texas, Mississippi and Oklahoma. In fact, one in three American women now live in states where they cannot control their own bodies. And Republicans want to inflict this suffering on every woman in every state, including California. That’s what we’re up against this November.

I’m running in one of the most competitive races in the country that will decide the fate of abortion rights in America. If I win, my pro-choice vote is clear. If I lose, my opponent Tom Patti will happily vote for a nationwide abortion ban. The choice is that simple.
