Who is behind this measure? A real estate developer and a whole lot of Republicans who don’t like the direction California is going in. Read: they don’t want to pay taxes, they don’t want to follow state mandates, and they want to blame everyone but themselves (local & county politicians) for the ever-growing gap between the rich and the poor. They want to ignore clean air standards in black and brown communities, ignore climate change, and ignore pandemics of all kinds.
Well, we can’t ignore this.
We can’t let the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors dupe anyone else. They want you to believe they care about the potential citizens of Empire while continuously ignoring the needs of San Bernardino’s current underserved citizens for decades.
The Board of Supervisors have chosen, over and over, not to provide equitable resources and care to their communities of color — for them, a State of Empire would be devastating.
