Dear friend,

I’m reaching out today to share a little bit of my story and how it relates to my campaign.

My father worked for 40 years as an Operating Engineer (Local 542), so I was raised with union values — to stand with your community and fight alongside your neighbors for what’s right. My parents always emphasized hard work and education, and showed me how strong unions and protections for workers help families succeed.

I carried these values with me during my time working at the National Whistleblowers Center. While at the NWC, I told the stories of whistleblowers who were retaliated against for reporting waste, fraud, and abuse. I fought to help employees get their jobs back and protect their pensions, while also advocating for legislation to protect future whistleblowers.

When I was illegally terminated for attempting to organize a union, I found myself in need of the same protections that I had fought so hard for for others. I refused to accept the NWC’s severance package with a gag clause, and instead, I was determined to use my experience to protect our rights as workers.

I pursued a wrongful termination charge — and successfully settled my case — but this fight was never just about me. It’s always been about ensuring our workers are treated with the dignity they deserve.

My story is not unlike other Pennsylvanians’ experiences. I know how important unions and workers’ rights are because I have lived these experiences, and I carry those experiences with me every day in office and on the campaign trail.

Friend, we need more people in office who understand and relate to the reality of working families and everyday Pennsylvanians. And that’s why I’m asking: Can you chip in to my re-election campaign so I can continue to advocate for workers and their families in Harrisburg?

Thank you,
