John, Twenty-one years ago, I was in Washington D.C. on September 11th when our nation was tragically attacked. I drove past the Pentagon about ten minutes before the plane crashed into it and vividly remember the panic my family felt when they were unable to reach me. I cannot even begin to imagine what those who lost family members went through that day and what they go through every day since then. Looking back on September 11th, 2001, President Bush noted that “One of the worst days in America’s history saw some of the bravest acts in Americans’ history.” These words ring true 21 years later. 9/11 was one of the most terrible days in U.S. history, and I hope that you will join me in taking time today to pray for those who lost their lives as well as their families. I am continuously grateful for all first responders who put their lives on the line that day and every day. Let us also say a prayer for those who sacrifice their lives to defend and protect the American people. These heroes make America the greatest country in the world. ICYMI: FOX News Interview Have you watched my Fox News interview from Thursday yet? I had a great time chatting with Dana Perino and Bill Hemmer about what issues I’m hearing from voters throughout KS-03. I was especially grateful to share more information with Dana about my plan to help women in the workforce following COVID. Our economy is in shambles thanks to failed leadership in Washington. My solution helps jumpstart the economy by making it easier for women, especially mothers, to re-enter the workforce. As a mother of two wonderful teenagers and a former healthcare executive, I know what it takes to help working women. Watch the full interview below: Women in the Workforce Policy Paper I know personally that being a working mother is no easy task. Women have to do it all, and the economic policies of Joe Biden and Sharice Davids only make life more difficult and expensive. I often hear stories about women who left the workforce in the midst of the pandemic, usually to raise children. With the current economic climate, it is incredibly difficult for many women to re-enter the workforce. That’s why I released my plan to support all women. We need more workplace flexibility, more paid leave, and increased access to high-quality early learning. Read my full plan at [link removed]. Washington Examiner Op-ed I also penned an op-ed in the Washington Examiner explaining why my plan to support women in the workforce is the best way to solve our workforce issues, fight inflation, and get our economy back on track. Check it out here: [link removed]. Farm Bureau Meeting On Friday, I had the opportunity to sit down with agriculture leaders from across the district to discuss how Congress can better support farmers in KS-03. Inflation is hurting our farmers too, and one farmer from Miami County shared that in the past year, his fertilizer costs have TRIPLED while his profit margin DECREASED from 20% to 3%. This is a direct consequence of Biden and Davids' lack of leadership. I cannot wait to get to work in Washington and champion policies that help Kansas farmers defend against overreach in Washington and enable them to thrive. Calling All Volunteers!
