Dear Friends,

I'm writing to encourage you to vote in Tuesday's Democratic Primary Elections. The stakes are high for both parties, though because of the statewide primaries on the Republican ballot, those races will have a high turnout. Democrats need to show enthusiasm for voting in down ballot elections this year. We've seen the consequences of ignoring down ballot races over the past two years. I hope you'll consider my recommendations.

In the primary to succeed me as the State Senator for District 10, I recommend Donovan Fenton. As a three-term state representative and a businessman of a multigenerational family business, Donovan will bring outstanding experience to the State Senate that will benefit the Democratic caucus. He'll be a strong advocate for public education, healthcare access, childcare, and environmental protection, and he'll stand-up to Republican claims that business tax cuts benefit the State.

For Executive Council District 2 primary, I recommend Cinde Warmington. Cinde has had an exceptional first term as the only Democrat on the Executive Council. Her advocacy on healthcare access and education issues has been outstanding and her constituent communication and outreach has been excellent.

I'll be voting for state representative in District 15, for which I recommend Paul Berch for reelection. Voters in this newly configured state house district include Keene Wards 1,3,4,5 and the towns of Hinsdale, Chesterfield, Westmoreland, Surry, and Walpole. Many of you know Paul as a former public defender who has been a leader on House Judiciary issues, such as civil and victims rights, women reproductive rights and abolishing the death penalty. Paul has earned the respect of colleagues from both political parties.

Democratic Governor-candidate Tom Sherman is also on the ballot running unopposed. Tom has built an outstanding record on healthcare access, public education and environmental protection during his 8 years as a state legislator. Dr. Tom is a gastroenterologist serving Exeter Hospital over the past 24 years. You can view Tom's first ad at [link removed]

Please look at the announcement below for a Dr. Tom Sherman for Governor general election launch party announcement happening in Keene this Wednesday evening, Sept. 14th. You need to RSVP, but please feel free to attend and learn how Tom plans to defeat Chris Sununu and lead Democrats to victory in November.

Voting is our only way to win elections. Please show your commitment to voting in November 2022 by voting this Tuesday, Sept. 13th. These candidates need your support. Feel free to call me with questions about candidates or voting, 603-381-2930.

Sincerely,

Jay Kahn,
State Senator, District 10 until Dec. 7, 2022
