Across this nation, the legitimacy of our government’s institutions are being attacked by the far-right. As we head into this fall’s midterms, we need to stay on our toes and make sure that we vote blue. Why? Because at least two-thirds of GOP candidates for this 2022 election are known election deniers.

That’s right. Two-thirds! It’s absurd, but it’s the unfortunate truth. This is true across both the state and federal level elections.

MAGA-Republicans desperately want President Biden out of office and replaced with their own figureheads, and they will do anything to assure that outcome. Most people think midterms are unimportant, but MAGA-Republicans a strategy. It is in their benefit to install as many election deniers as they can into powerful political positions, so that when 2024 rolls around, they can make sure their candidate wins, no matter what.

If they manage to fill our country’s government with election deniers, then they have a shot at pushing their fringe ideologies on all of us Americans. If they fill Congress with deniers, only their far-right policies will be passed. And if they fill critical state-level positions with deniers, then those states won’t be able to certify election results. We all know how dangerous that is.

We have to act now to make sure this doesn’t happen. If elections are overturned in this country, that is a direct attack on democracy. We need to turn out the vote this year to make sure that we preserve our democracy for years to come.
