Dear friend,

Last month, I announced that I will introduce legislation that will provide free school meals to all students.

At the beginning of the pandemic, the federal government made it so that all children had access to free breakfast and lunch. However, this access expired at the beginning of the 2022-23 school year, leaving students and families across Pennsylvania once again facing this cost.

Removing this access to free breakfast and lunch at schools hurts families who are already struggling. And with prices rising in grocery stores, now is not the time to take away meals from students and assistance from families.

Every student should have access to breakfast and lunch. This is one of the most basic and common sense ways that we can help our students thrive in the classroom and be ready to learn every day.

Friend, for the sake of our students and families, we must elect people in November who will identify these problems in our community and work to build common sense solutions.

As long as Iā€™m in the PA Senate, you can count on me to advocate for you, your children, and your families.

Thank you,

Lindsey Williams
