My name is Yadira Caraveo, and I am the Democratic nominee in Colorado’s 8th Congressional district. I wanted to reach out and introduce myself.

I’m a pediatrician, Colorado state representative, the daughter of a construction worker, and the Democratic nominee and Red to Blue candidate for CO-08. In Congress, I would be the first Latina to represent Colorado.

Campaign experts, including Politico, 538, and even Fox News agree: my race is key to Democrats keeping control of the House. The GOP and their special interests will pull out all the stops to defeat our grassroots movement, and we can’t let that happen.

As a state legislator, I have fought to help working class families like mine. And I’ve gotten real results. I passed legislation to lower prescription drug prices, limit toxic pollution, expand preschool funding, and ensure paid family and sick leave. I’m ready to deliver change to the people of Colorado, but I can’t do it alone.

I’m ready to get to work to lower health care costs, address the high cost of housing, combat climate change, protect a woman’s right to choose, and defend the right to vote.
